Square leather seat cushion in brown, black & cognac – made to order

Rugged, thick, open-pored and with a beautifully coarse grain: the square seat cushion is topped with 3.5 mm cow neck leather – often showing the typical neck creases that run across the cushion like wood grain. That makes every cushion unique. The padding gives the leather a gentle dome, and a seam in extra-thick thread all around holds everything in shape. From the side you can see how sturdy the leather is and how its color plays with the felt underneath. Whether on a wooden chair, a bench or a stool: a seat cushion you'll love to touch.

You also choose the leather color for the top, the felt color for the underside and the corner shape – square or rounded with a radius of approx. 30 mm. To keep the cushion from slipping on smooth seats, an anti-slip coating made of natural latex is available as an option.

The leather: milled cow neck leather from southern Germany

We use vegetable-tanned heavy leather, approx. 3.5 mm thick, cut from the neck of the hide. It is milled (tumbled), which gives it its distinctive, bold grain. At the same time, this very sturdy leather gains exactly the softness a seat cushion needs. It comes from a long-established tannery, a family business now in its fourth generation. Over time, the leather develops a beautiful patina and darkens.

The underside of the chair cushion

The underside of the leather cushions is made of 3 mm wool felt made from 100% virgin wool, produced in Germany. It adds comfort and provides insulation.

The padding

We use 20 mm foam of grade RG 5078. With a density of 50 kg/m³, it is particularly dense and therefore durable: the cushion won't flatten out and keeps its shape for years. The high compression hardness of 7.8 kPa provides a firm, supportive feel – you don't sink in too far, yet you no longer feel the hard seat beneath. The firm foam also keeps the leather taut and nicely domed.

The chair cushions are made to your specifications in color, size, corner shape and underside. As custom-made items, they are therefore excluded from exchange and return.
